Ron Rubin - K3RON - Silent Key

Fellow Phil-Monters,
It is with great sadness that I report the passing of K3RON, Ron Rubin on 12/18/23. Ron was a Phil-Mont board member for many years, always offered constructive ideas for the club and never missed a board meeting. Ron was also an active Rooster (Rooster #1259), always on 3.990 Mhz as early as 4am to greet the extra early Roost-ers.

Ron was also an avid audiophile, very into vinyl and high quality audio. We will miss his deep “broadcast radio” voice and his daily sports reports (especially the Phillies) on the Rooster net (www.rooster-net.org). Although Ron wasn’t often on the repeater, he was always “there” with Phil-Mont’s best interests at heart.
